Horse Racing History – The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend
27/05/2022
In today’s video we interview the Hon Frances who invites us into the quintessentially British world of horse racing.
Frances is a Director of Newmarket Racecourse and assists in the running of New England Stud with her husband. She has been active in the horse racing world for many years, competing, breeding and supporting racing related charities.
Horse racing as a sport has all the glamour of a Hollywood film, from the thoroughbred horses, the fashion, the betting to the aristocracy, including the royal family.
Join us as she explains the impact the royal family has had on racing as a sport in Britain, in particular the current monarch Queen Elizabeth II. She discusses the difference between racing, showjumping, polo and other eventing horses and the origins of each of them.
And how modern travel has allowed horse owners to double up on their investments with easier ways to travel across the world with their horses.
With the racing season upon us, we would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on your experience attending these elegant and historical events.
